Wehrschach, also known as Tak-Tik, was a chess variant for two players that was widespread among soldiers in Germany during the Second World War. It was first presented in the Illustrated German School Newspaper in April 1938. The rules of defensive chess are strongly based on those of Chinese chess (Xiangqi).
