Rules for playing the traditionally known and highly entertaining Game of Geese:
The game uses two dice. Each person puts an agreed number of chips into the pot. Each player throws the dice once.
The one with the highest number of eyes starts.
If the first throw consists of a three and a six, the player proceeds to 26. If it is a 4 and a 5 they go to 53. If the player lands on a goose, the thrown number of eyes counts twice.
If they land on the bridge (6), they have to pay 1 chip. If one wants to pay double, one can proceed to 12. If one lands on the inn (19), one needs to pay for the drink (1 chip) en skip one turn. If one lands in the well (31), one pays 1 chip and has to wait until someone takes their place. If one lands in the maze (42), one pays 1 chip and returns to 39.
If one lands in the prison (52), they have to pay fine (1 chop) and wait for someone to release them. If one lands on death (58), one has to restart. If one is taken over by someone else, one needs to return to that person’s place. If one passes 63, one needs to count backwards, and if one then lands on a goose, one needs to count the same number backwards again. The one who lands exactly on 63 wins the game.
