Rules of the game :
This game is played by two. Each player takes two blue pieces (which represent the eighth notes), two yellow pieces (which represent the quarter notes), two green pieces (the white pieces) and two red pieces (the whole notes), i.e. eight pieces per player.
These pawns are placed at the top of the game by one player on each of the eight staves, and under the same conditions, at the bottom of the game, by the other player.
This done, the players each make a move in turn, by advancing a pawn, the one that suits him, in the direction of his opponent, and up to the next horizontal range, or to the left or to the right, to his choice.
When two enemy camp pawns meet, a round, which is worth 8, can capture a half note, a quarter note or an eighth note; a half note, which is 4, can capture a quarter note or an eighth note; and a quarter note, which is 2, can capture an eighth note.
The first of the opponents to capture all of the other's pawns wins the game.
When neither of the two opponents manages to take all the pawns of the other and the remaining pawns of the two camps have all crossed the game on both sides, the winner is the one who has kept the greatest number of points , its whole notes counting for 8, its half notes for 4, its quarter notes for 2 and its eighth notes for 1.
