Rules of the game :
This game is played by two. One takes in hand the six pawns representing the Russians, and the other the one representing the Japanese spy (small pawn on the right).
At the start of the game, place the six Russians in the six spaces surrounding the Port-Arthur enclosure, and the Japanese spy in one of the four spaces at the bottom of the game.
The objective of the spy is to penetrate into Port-Arthur, and that of the Russians is to prevent it, to surround it on all sides and to make it impossible for it to leave the circle which they must form. around him ; if the spy manages to penetrate Port-Arthur, he has won the game; if the Russians surround him, as stated above, they are the victors.
The pawns can advance, retreat, go to the right or to the left according to the players; each of them can only move forward one space with each move.
The spy must change squares with each move; at each move also, one of the Russian pawns, only one, the one that suits the player, must change square. You move from one box to another by the sides, and never by the angles.
