How to draw a spider monkey
How to draw a spider monkey
step-1
GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
1) Draw a rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the middle of the rectangle, draw one vertical and one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 3) Draw another horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle. 4) Draw a vertical line equally dividing the left half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a vertical line equally dividing the right half of the rectangle.
step-2
STEP 1. Mark off the width and height of the spider monkey. Define its general proportions. Draw its head. Add the tree branches.
step-3
STEP 2. Draw shapes for the monkey’s body, neck and tree. Add a guideline for its tail.
step-4
STEP 3. Add guidelines for the arms, feet and mouth of the spider monkey.
step-5
STEP 4. Draw shapes for the legs, feet, arms, hands, cheeks and ear.
step-6
STEP 5. Draw the toes, fingers, eyes and tail of the spider monkey. Add a small branch above the monkey. Line its face.
step-7
STEP 6. Add the nose. Work on the figure, paying special attention to detail.
step-8
STEP 7. Contour the spider monkey, trying to vary the thickness and darkness of the line. Add more detail and add the branches. Erase all guidelines.
