How to draw a pirate ship
How to draw a pirate ship
step-1
GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
1) Draw a rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the middle of the rectangle, draw one vertical and one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 3) Draw another horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle. 4) Draw a vertical line equally dividing the left half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a vertical line equally dividing the right half of the rectangle.
step-2
STEP 1. Mark off the width and height of the picture. Draw some guidelines for the pirate ship and its masts.
step-3
STEP 2. Add lines to define the places for the yardarms and body of the pirate ship.
step-4
STEP 3. Add the decks, bowsprit and handrails of the ship.
step-5
STEP 4. Draw shapes for the masts and yards. Add more lines to the body of the pirate ship.
step-6
STEP 5. Sketch the sails, bases of the crow’s nests, gun ports and define places for the windows and some new parts.
step-7
STEP 6. Add the windows, guns and nests of the pirate ship. Detail the shape of its body.
step-8
STEP 7. Work on the whole figure, paying special attention to detail.
step-9
STEP 8. Contour the pirate ship, trying to vary the thickness and darkness of the line. Add more detail and add the sea. Erase all guidelines.
