How to draw Donkey Kong
How to draw Donkey Kong
step-1
GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
1) Draw a rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the middle of the rectangle, draw one vertical and one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 3) Draw another horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle. 4) Draw a vertical line equally dividing the left half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a vertical line equally dividing the right half of the rectangle.

STEP 1. Mark off the width and height of the picture. Draw an oval for the head of Donkey Kong. Draw a line, which will act as the center of his head and body. Define the place for his shoulders.
step-3
STEP 2. Draw the shape of Kong’s face. Add guidelines for his body.
step-4
STEP 3. Outline the body. Add lines to define places for the mouth and eyes.

STEP 4. Add guidelines to define places for Donkey Kong’s legs.
step-6
STEP 5. Sketch the legs and eyes.
step-7
STEP 6. Detail Kong’s rear legs and feet. Add his forefeet, pupils, mouth, ear, eyebrows and the knot of his tie.
step-8
STEP 7. Sketch the toes and tie. Work on the whole figure, paying special attention to detail.
step-9
STEP 8. Contour Donkey Kong, trying to vary the thickness and darkness of the line. Add more detail and add the grass. Erase all guidelines.
