How to draw a wombat
This drawing is based on the photo of Southern hairy-nosed wombat, a smallest of all three wombat species.
How to draw a wombat
step-1
GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
1) Draw a rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the middle of the rectangle, draw one vertical and one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 3) Draw another horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle. 4) Draw a vertical line equally dividing the left half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a vertical line equally dividing the right half of the rectangle.
step-2
STEP 1. Mark off the width and height of the wombat. Draw an oval for its head. Draw a guideline for it.
step-3
STEP 2. Draw an oval for the body; define the neck.
step-4
STEP 3. Draw guidelines for the legs. Mark the proportions of the legs and the face.
step-5
STEP 4. Outline the legs, feet and face of the wombat.
step-6
STEP 5. Delineate the toes. Illustrate the features of the head. Add ears and eyes.
step-7
STEP 6. Work on the wombat, paying special attention to details.
step-8
STEP 7. Contour the animal, trying to vary the blackness and thickness of the line. Add some details and the ground. Erase all guidelines.
