How to draw a realistic alligator
How to draw a realistic alligator
step-1
GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
1) Draw a rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the middle of the rectangle, draw one vertical and one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 3) Draw another horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle. 4) Draw a vertical line equally dividing the left half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a vertical line equally dividing the right half of the rectangle.
step-2
STEP 1. Mark off the width and height of the picture. Draw two ovals for the alligator’s head and its body. Draw a smooth guideline for the body and the head.
step-3
STEP 2. Define the places for the neck and tail of the alligator.
step-4
STEP 3. Draw guidelines for the legs. Outline, with light lines, the head’s features.
step-5
STEP 4. Draw out the shapes of the legs and feet.
step-6
STEP 5. Add a snout and a tail.
step-7
STEP 6. Delineate the alligator’s toes, jaws and eyes.
step-8
STEP 7. Work on the shapes of the legs, feet and the head of the alligator, paying attention to details such as it’s claws, nostrils and pupils.
step-9
STEP 8. Contour, trying to vary the thickness and blackness of the line. Draw more details (such as bony skin and wrinkles) and the ground. Erase all guidelines.
