How to draw Alvin Chipmunk
How to draw Alvin Chipmunk
step-1
GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
1) Draw a rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the middle of the rectangle, draw one vertical and one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 3) Draw another horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle. 4) Draw a vertical line equally dividing the left half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a vertical line equally dividing the right half of the rectangle.
step-2
STEP 1. Mark off the width and height of the picture. Draw an oval that will serve as a basic shape for the head of Alvin’s chipmunk, and draw a line which will act as the center of the oval. Extend it to indicate the height of the animal’s body. With a smooth line, outline the shape of its tummy.
step-3
STEP 2. Delineate the shape of the head and the very basic proportions of the chipmunk’s body.
step-4
STEP 3. Draw guidelines for the arms of the chipmunk. Add further lines to mark pockets, feet and the proportions of the head.
step-5
STEP 4. Outline the shape of the sleeves and a cap.
step-6
STEP 5. Draw the shapes of the sweater and the peak worn by Alvin’s Chipmunk.
step-7
STEP 6. Outline the general shapes of the animal’s feet and pads, its nose and eyes.
step-8
STEP 7. Work on the whole shape and figure, adding further detail.
step-9
STEP 8. Contour, trying to vary the thickness and blackness of the line. Add some extra details and the ground around Alvin’s Chipmunk. Erase all guidelines.
