How to draw a teapot
How to draw a teapot
step-1
GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
1) Draw a rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the middle of the rectangle, draw one vertical and one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 3) Draw another horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle. 4) Draw a vertical line equally dividing the left half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a vertical line equally dividing the right half of the rectangle.
step-2
STEP 1. Mark off the width and height of the teapot. Draw a line, which will act as the center of it. Draw an oval for its body.
step-3
STEP 2. Draw the general shape of the handle and spout.
step-4
STEP 3. With two ovals, outline the base and lid of the teapot.

STEP 4. Define the shapes of the teapot mouth and its lid. Draw two ovals for spot holes and one more for the base.
step-6
STEP 5. Outline the teapot handle.
step-7
STEP 6. Add lines to illustrate the handle, neck and the knob.
step-8
STEP 7. Work on the teapot, paying special attention to details.
step-9
STEP 8. Contour, trying to vary the blackness and thickness of the line. Add some details and a table. Erase all guidelines.
