How to draw a realistic giraffe
How to draw a realistic giraffe
step-1
GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
1) Draw a rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the middle of the rectangle, draw one vertical and one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 3) Draw another horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle. 4) Draw a vertical line equally dividing the left half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a vertical line equally dividing the right half of the rectangle.
step-2
STEP 1. Mark off the width and height of the picture. Draw an oval for the head and a circle for the body of the giraffe. Add a line that will act as the center of the head.
step-3
STEP 2. With two smooth lines, draw the shape of the giraffe’s neck and back.
step-4
STEP 3. Define the legs and hoofs.
step-5
STEP 4. Outline the face, tail and chest of the giraffe.
step-6
STEP 5. Draw guidelines for its legs, ears and horns.
step-7
STEP 6. Delineate the giraffe’s joints and hoofs. Define the places for its eyes. Add details to the shape of the head and the tail.
step-8
STEP 7. Work on the figure of the giraffe, paying attention to details. Draw a mane and a tail tuft.
step-9
STEP 8. Contour, trying to vary the thickness and blackness of the lines. Add grass. Erase all guidelines.
