How to draw a helicopter
How to draw a helicopter
step-1
GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
1) Draw a rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the middle of the rectangle, draw one vertical and one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 3) Draw another horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle. 4) Draw a vertical line equally dividing the left half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a vertical line equally dividing the right half of the rectangle.
step-2
STEP 1. Mark off the width and height of the picture. Define, with light lines, the main proportions of the helicopter. Draw an oval for the tail rotor.
step-3
STEP 2. Outline the shape of the body. Draw an oval to define the main rotor swashplate. Draw two short lines up from its sides.
step-4
STEP 3. Draw additional lines to show the body in a more detailed way. Add a rudder and a tail root.
step-5
STEP 4. Outline the helicopter windows and wheels. At the center of the tail rotor, outline a circle.
step-6
STEP 5. Continue adding new details. Define the windows of the cockpit and the length of the rotor blades. Add horizontal stabilizers and a front wheel.
step-7
STEP 6. Draw rotor blades and define the wheel width. Make the window corners smoother. Add some details.
step-8
STEP 7. Work on the figure of the helicopter, making it more realistic.
step-9
STEP 8. Add more details.
step-10
STEP 9. Contour the helicopter, trying to vary the thickness and blackness of the line. Draw trees. Erase all guidelines. The helicopter is done.
