How to draw a harp
How to draw a harp
step-1
GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
1) Draw a rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the middle of the rectangle, draw one vertical and one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 3) Draw another horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle. 4) Draw a vertical line equally dividing the left half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a vertical line equally dividing the right half of the rectangle.
step-2
STEP 1. Mark off the width and height of the harp. On the left side draw a circle and add a line, leading to the right lower corner.
step-3
STEP 2. Outline a base and add a guideline for the body.
step-4
STEP 3. Draw a line through the center of the baseboard and draw its shape. Add a guideline for a harp column and define its general proportions.
step-5
STEP 4. Outline the shape of the column, a crown and a column block.
step-6
STEP 5. Add lines to show the shape of the column. With two smooth lines, draw a harmonic curve. Add guidelines for the legs.
step-7
STEP 6. Draw the sides of the neck, of the soundbox and of the base. Delineate the shape of the legs and small ovals for pedals.
step-8
STEP 7. Work on the figure of the harp.
step-9
STEP 8. Add strings and more details.
step-10
STEP 9. Contour, trying to vary the thickness and blackness of the line. Draw more details and the floor. Erase all guidelines. The harp is done!
