How to draw a windmill
How to draw a windmill
step-1
GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
1) Draw a rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the middle of the rectangle, draw one vertical and one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 3) Draw another horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle. 4) Draw a vertical line equally dividing the left half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a vertical line equally dividing the right half of the rectangle.
step-2
STEP 1. Mark off the width and height of the windmill. Define its general proportions. Draw a guideline for it.
step-3
STEP 2. Draw, with light lines, the whole shape of the building.
step-4
STEP 3. Define the roof, the balcony, and the base.
step-5
STEP 4. Outline a small circle for a weathercock base. Draw the general shape of the door. With thin lines, delineate the walls of the windmill.
step-6
STEP 5. Draw out the blades and the base of the balcony.
step-7
STEP 6. Draw an oval below the cupola, the door jambs, the railings and the windows.
step-8
STEP 7. Define more carefully the base, windows and blade stocks.
step-9
STEP 8. Outline the supports of the balcony. Work on the railings, their components and parts.
step-10
STEP 9. Contour, trying to vary the thickness and blackness of the line. Add more details and grass. Erase all guidelines.
