GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
1) Draw a rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the middle of the rectangle, draw one vertical and one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 3) Draw another horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle. 4) Draw a vertical line equally dividing the left half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a vertical line equally dividing the right half of the rectangle.

STEP 1. Mark off the width and height of the picture. Draw guidelines for the body and head of the ballerina.

STEP 2. Outline the general shape of her figure.

STEP 3. Delineate the back of the ballerina. Add guidelines for her hands and her lifted leg, marking with cross lines the proportions of her hands and arms.

STEP 4. Outline the shapes of the arm and face..

STEP 5. Outline the shapes of her legs, feet and tutu.

STEP 6. Add some lines to show the legs, feet and arms. Pay attention to the details of the hands.

STEP 7. Work on the whole shape and figure, adding more details.

STEP 8. Delineate the face and some features of the ballerina.
step-10
STEP 9. Contour, adding some extra details. Draw the floor around the ballerina. Erase all guidelines.
