How to draw The son of Man by Rene Magritte
How to draw The son of Man by Rene Magritte
step-1
GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
• Locate the head in advance and draw its approximate size using an ovals. • Draw 1 horizontal line above the head. Above it, draw 1 line equal to half the height of the head. • Draw 1 horizontal line under the head. Below it, add 3 more lines equal to the height of the head. • On the left and right sides of the head, draw a vertical line. Draw from them to the sides: -on the left, 2 line equal to the width of the head; -on the right, 2 lines equal to the width of the head.
step-2
STEP 1. Divide the face with a line. Draw an auxiliary line for the neck and a larger figure for the body.
step-3
STEP 2. Draw a man's hat. Mark the eyes. Make the body line more distinct. Wipe off any excess.
step-4
STEP 3. Detail the hat. In front of the face, draw a circle for the apple. Sketch a jacket with buttons. In the background, mark a ground line.
step-5
STEP 4. Add detail to the hat. Sketch the ears and eyebrows. Mark the collar of the jacket and shirt. Draw lines on the background. Sketch the branches to the apple.
step-6
STEP 5. Detail the ears and buttons. Sketch the leaves on the apple. Draw a tie. Add lines to the background.
step-7
STEP 6. Check that there are no extra lines in the drawing. Contour man, trying to vary the thickness and darkness of the line.
step-8
STEP 7. Colour in the picture and bring it to life. Enjoy your drawing.
