How to draw Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci
How to draw Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci
step-1
GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
• Locate the head in advance and draw its approximate size using an oval • Draw 1 horizontal line above the head. Add 1 more line 5/6 closer. • Draw 1 horizontal line under the head. Below it, add 2 more lines at the height of the head and 1 line 4/6 closer. • Separate the head with a vertical line. This is the centre vertical line. Draw from it to the sides: -on the left 2 lines at a distance slightly narrower than the width of the head; -on the right, 2 lines at a distance slightly narrower than the width of the head plus 1 line much closer.
step-2
STEP 1. Separate the face with two lines. Trace a circle under the head, which will be the torso.
step-3
STEP 2. Draw the woman's neck. From the torso, sketch two arms and hands.
step-4
STEP 3. Outline the nose and mouth. Start drawing the silhouette of the dress with the hood. Erase excess lines.
step-5
STEP 4. Mark the edge of the hood on the head. Sketch a place for the eyes. Outline the collar and sleeves.
step-6
STEP 5. Draw the upper eyelid, nose and mouth. Draw two curly curls. Make the body parts more distinct. Outline the fingers. Erase the auxiliary lines.
step-7
STEP 6. Draw more hair. Add folds to the clothes. Outline the fingers.
step-8
STEP 7. Detail the facial features. Work on the hair. Make the dress more layered.
step-9
STEP 8. Draw the pupils. Finish with the hood and hair. Make a pattern and a couple of creases on the dress.
step-10
STEP 9. Check that there are no extra lines in the drawing. Contour woman, trying to vary the thickness and darkness of the line.
step-11
STEP 10. Colour in the picture and bring it to life. Enjoy your drawing!
