How to draw Lady with an Ermine by Leonardo da Vinci

GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
• Locate the head in advance and draw its approximate size using an oval • Draw 1 horizontal line above your head. Add 1 more line 6/7 closer. • Draw 1 horizontal line under the head. Below it, add 2 more lines at the height of the head • On the left and right sides of the head, draw a vertical line. Draw from them to the sides: - to the left 1 line vertical at a distance of the width of the head. -to the right 1 vertical line the width of the head.

STEP 1. Draw a line and figure for the woman's torso lady.

STEP 2. Split the woman's face with a line and enhance the shape of the head. Draw figures for the woman's hands. Sketch the head of the ermine.

STEP 3. Separate the face with a vertical line and draw the eyes. Create a silhouette of a woman and a ermine. Erase the auxiliary lines.

STEP 4. Mark the outline of the nose and mouth. Sketch the edge of the sleeve. Draw the body of the ermine. Erase the extra lines.

STEP 5. Mark a handkerchief on the head. Draw the nose and fingers. Sketch the woman's cleavage. Draw the head of the ferret.

STEP 6. Detail the eyes and mouth. Sketch the hair. Add necklaces and stripes to the woman's clothes. Draw the eyes and paws of the ferret. Erase the extra lines.

STEP 7. Add head jewellery and beads. Draw nails. Make a pattern on the dress.

STEP 8. Add more pleats, patterns and ties to clothes.

STEP 9. Check that there are no extra lines in the drawing. Contour Lady with an Ermine, trying to vary the thickness and darkness of the line.

STEP 10. Colour in the picture and bring it to life. Enjoy your drawing!
