How to draw a griffin in flight
How to draw a griffin in flight
step-1
GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
1) Draw a vertical rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the upper boundary of the rectangle draw two vertical lines that will divide the rectangle by 3 equal parts. 3) From the middle of the right boundary of the rectangle, draw one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 4) Draw a horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle.
step-2
STEP 1. Mark where the griffon will be positioned. Draw a small circle at the top and a large circle at the bottom.
step-3
STEP 2. Inside the large circle, draw two smaller ones.
step-4
STEP 3. Outline the neck and wings of the griffin. Erase excess lines.
step-5
STEP 4. Connect the wing to the body. Mark the lines for the griffin's legs.
step-6
STEP 5. Shape the muzzle and make it oblong. Create a wing shape. Add lines for claws and paws. Draw the tip of the tail.
step-7
STEP 6. Add a small line to complete the shape of the wings. Mark where the feathers will be on the legs. Draw the tail.
step-8
STEP 7. Make a beak. Outline the eye and ears. Add a small line to complete the wing shape. Mark where the feathers will be on the paws. Draw the legs. Add the edge of the second wing. Erase redundant lines.
step-9
STEP 8. Work through the griffin completely. Add detail to the muzzle and ears. Add feathers all over the body.
step-10
STEP 9. Detail the tail. Check that there are no extra lines in the drawing. Contour griffon, trying to vary the thickness and darkness of the line. Enjoy your drawing!
