GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps. Draw a square which will act as the frame of the monkey portrait.
STEP 1. Outline the general shape of the head and the upper body of the monkey.
STEP 2. Sketch eyes, ears, neck and mouse of the monkey.
STEP 3. Refine the shapes of the ears. Detail the eyes and mouse. Add the shape of the nose.
STEP 4. Add more details to the ears and nose. Sketch a lock of hair.
STEP 5. Work on the whole figure, adding more details to the eyes and nose.
