step-1
GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
1) Draw a rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the middle of the rectangle, draw one vertical and one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 3) Draw another horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle. 4) Draw a vertical line equally dividing the left half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a vertical line equally dividing the right half of the rectangle.

GRID STEP. Mark off the width and height of the picture. Define the general proportions of the fireman. Draw the shape of his head.

GRID STEP. Draw guidelines for his arms and hands. Define the neck. Show cuffs with lines.

GRID STEP. Define the fireman’s features and the shape of his body.

GRID STEP. With light lines, draw the sleeves and a helmet.

GRID STEP. Draw trousers, hands, a mask and the lower part of the helmet.

GRID STEP. Draw the clothes of the fireman, a mask glass, a hose and an oxygen cylinder.

GRID STEP. Work on the figure of the man, paying special attention to details, parts and components.
step-9
GRID STEP. Contour, trying to vary the thickness and blackness of the line. Draw more details. Delineate the ground. Erase all guidelines.
