GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
• Locate the heads in advance and draw its approximate size using an ovals. One head should be a little above. Let's call it a "head1". • Draw 1 horizontal line a short distance above your head1 that is higher. • Draw 1 horizontal line above the head1. Below it, add 6 more lines equal to the height of the head1 plus 1 line equal to 1/3 of the height of the head1. • On the left and right sides of the head1, draw a vertical line. Draw from them to the sides: -on the left, 3 lines equal to the width of the head1; -on the right, 3 lines equal to the width of the head1.

GRID STEP. Separate the faces with lines. Sketch auxiliary lines and figures for the bodies. Mark the legs of the Madonna.

GRID STEP. Sketch out the eyes. Add lines and shapes for the hands with palms. Mark the feet of the Madonna. Erase any excess lines.

GRID STEP. Sketch the hands. Mark the places for the noses and mouths. Draw the Madonna's neck. Remove the auxiliary lines.

GRID STEP. Draw Madonna's clothes. Make the child's neck more distinct. Detail the faces.

GRID STEP. Complement Madonna's dress. Sketch her fingers. Draw the eyebrows, chins and ears of the characters.

GRID STEP. Sketch the hair of the characters. Detail the dress. Complete the body of Jesus. Draw the Madonna's toes.

GRID STEP. Add more folds to Madonna.

GRID STEP. Check that there are no extra lines in the drawing. Contour Madonna with Christ, trying to vary the thickness and darkness of the line.
