How to draw Irene Cahen d’Anvers by Renoir
GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.
• Locate the head in advance and draw its approximate size using an oval • Draw 1 hprizontal line above your head. Add 1 more line 2/3 closer. • Draw 1 horizontal line under the head. Below it, add 2 more lines at the height of the head plus one line 2/3 closer. • On the left and right sides of the head, draw a vertical line. Draw from them to the sides: - to the left 1 line vertical at a distance of the width of the head plus 1 line 5/6 closer. -to the right 1 vertical line the width of the head plus 1 line 5/6 closer.

GRID STEP. Draw two ovals below and draw auxiliary lines. This will be the girl's body.
GRID STEP. Separate the girl's face with lines. Sketch the arms with shoulder joints and palms.
GRID STEP. Designate a place for the eyes, mouth and ear. Outline the neck and sleeves. Start sketching the dress. Erase any excess auxiliary lines.
GRID STEP. Mark the girl's hair and eyebrows. Make a clear outline of the lips and nose. Add the elements of the dress. Erase the auxiliary shapes and lines.
GRID STEP. Draw two circles in place of the pupils. Add more hair in front. Start sketching the fingers. Erase the auxiliary shapes and lines.
GRID STEP. Add details on the eyes and ear. Draw pleats on the dress. Finish the arms and sleeves. Sketch the creases in the hair and the barrette.
GRID STEP. Detail the drawing. Draw more hairs and folds.
GRID STEP. Check that there are no extra lines in the drawing. Contour girl, trying to vary the thickness and darkness of the line.
GRID STEP. Colour in the picture and bring it to life. Enjoy your drawing!
